The news about Tiger Woods’ car-accident-based DUI arrest is getting sobering. Probable cause affidavit received on March 31 PeoplePolice revealed that Woods had two hydrocodone pills in his pocket after his arrest for driving under the influence. Hydrocodone is an opiate used in medications such as Vicodin. Additionally, he is described as having “bloodshot and glassy” eyes with dilated pupils and he was “sweating profusely.” The affidavit claims that, during the investigation, Woods was “extremely alert and talkative” and was having “hiccups throughout the investigation.”
Woods’ Land Rover crashed on March 27. He claimed that he looked at his phone while driving and did not notice that a truck had stopped in front of him. He then crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic and collided with the trailer of a stopped truck and his car overturned. The truck driver helped Woods out of the car, according to the affidavit.
Woods reportedly told police that he did not drink alcohol on the day of the accident, but when asked about prescription medications, he said, “I take some.” Police conducted a sobriety test, after which a deputy said he believed “Woods’s normal senses were impaired, and he was unable to safely operate a motor vehicle.” This is his second rollover accident after one in 2021, and the second time he has been arrested for driving under the influence following his 2017 arrest.
