congressman john james Amid the ongoing government shutdown, he’s doing his best to distract voters in his home state from his island vacation — by reminding them he’s a gun-toting crook.
Here’s the deal… Yesterday, right around the time we posted a photo of Rep. James on his trip to Turks and Caicos, James posted a clip of himself unloading hand guns and assault rifles at targets and hitting some pullups. Do you know? Super alpha male stuff.

In his caption, JJ said that he went to shoot with good people at the local outlet michigan enjoyAnd he certainly did… but that was eight months ago!
Yep, that’s a good old-fashioned repost…Michigan Enjoy first published the video showing Congressman James shooting down the target in August 2025 in an article titled “John James Wants to Bring Manliness Back to Michigan.”
Representative James is running for governor in November.
Looks like it’s a step right out of a Congressional recess program… Remember, after we published the photos lindsey graham spinning around a bubble stick and space mountain ride At Disney World, he shared a skeet shooting photo to try to change the narrative.
BTW… James has been posting a lot about his home state — including sharing a throwback photo of himself at a Detroit Tigers game in honor of the team’s home opener on Friday afternoon.
We don’t know yet if he’s actually in Michigan relaxing on the beach somewhere. His office did not respond when asked for comment about the Turk photo.
Don’t shoot the messenger, Congressman James…but, you still have a government shutdown on your hands!
