After winning a national championship with Michigan, Elliot Cadeau would run it back. On Thursday, he announced his return to the Wolverines for his senior year pittamail.
Cadeau found his hook with Michigan, having the best season of his college career. Although the numbers looked solid, it was the confidence he had in his game that saw the greatest improvement during his tenure in Ann Arbor.
“You know, just that they have confidence in me and they’re telling me I’m a national-championship-caliber point guard and that means a lot to me and that’s why I committed here,” he said in an interview with CBS reporter Matt Norlander after winning the national championship.
During the NCAA Tournament, he averaged 12.3 points and 7.5 assists per game. With these numbers and his continued intensity, he earned Most Outstanding Player honors in the Final Four. His best performance was against UConn, as he scored a game-high 19 points in their emphatic win.
Although his potential NBA career has been put on hold, Michigan’s chances of winning another title are in good hands with Cadeau’s return.
