Oasis’s Liam Gallagher quipped in classic Gallagher form upon his band’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame after years of mocking the institution.
In a series of tweets on Twitter following the Hall of Fame announcement, he started with a simple declaration: “Reverse psychology vibes at Farmer’s Oasis RNR Hall, I mean Famers,” he wrote, referring to inflammatory comments regarding his two previous nominations. “I want to thank everyone who voted for us, it’s been a real honor ever since I was a little kid and singing in the shower, I’ve dreamed of being in the RNR Hall of Fame one day, it’s true what they say if you have a dream anything is possible.”
Thus began a series of reactions that revealed that perhaps his enthusiasm was in jest – or perhaps not? “No wonder we had to pay them to let us in,” he wrote in response to a fan who said they probably wouldn’t have voted for him. Will they join it or not? “I’m fine, I dreamed of this as a little person singing with my brush in the shower.”
Following the announcement of TODAY’s appointment, one fan called him a “hypocrite”. He replied, “I know what kind of vagina it is.”
When Oasis were nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the first time in 2024, Liam Gallagher had some spicy words to share on X. He wrote, “Fuck the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame, it’s full of BUMBACLARTS.” “I don’t need a masturbation award from some old guy in a cowboy hat.” He also told fans that they should not vote because “as much as it’s appreciated it’s all a load of bollocks.”
He expressed similar sentiments during a 2024 interview with the Sunday Times, saying, “As much as I love Mariah Carey and all that, I want to say: do me a favor and fuck me. It’s like putting me in the rap hall of fame, and I don’t want to be a part of anything mentally disturbing. Plus, I’ve worked for half the clowns on that board for rock’n’roll, so it’s It’s all a load of rubbish.”
Last year, Liam Gallagher once again considered potentially inducting Oasis into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame after a fan account on “The RNR Hall of Fame is for wankers,” he wrote in response to the post. When another fan asked, “What would you do if you won?” He responded, “Oh, go ahead and say it’s the best thing ever.”
Oasis’ latest coronation into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame follows a blockbuster reunion tour, which kicked off in Cardiff, Wales and concludes in Sao Paulo, Brazil in November 2025.
