Tickets for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games will go on sale to the general public on April 9, organizers said on Monday, as LA28 reassured fans over ticket security by naming a group of verified resale platforms.
A presale to residents of the qualifying areas of Los Angeles and Oklahoma City, which will host the softball and canoe slalom events, Will start from 2nd April.
LA28’s event will include 1 million tickets priced at $28, the lowest price point. Roughly 5% of Olympic tickets will cost more than $1,000, while more than 75% of tickets, including the final, will cost less than $400 and nearly 50% of tickets will cost less than $200.
“Tickets compete with, and in many cases are on par with, other professional sports and major entertainment events in the U.S.,” Allison Katz-Mayfield, LA28’s senior vice president of games delivery revenue, told reporters.
Separately, LA28 said its Verified Multi-Platform Resale Program will open in 2027, with AXS and Eventim serving as official secondary ticket marketplaces and Ticketmaster and Sports Illustrated Tickets also named as Verified Resale Platforms.
The announcement comes as organizers prepare for the first ticket drop and want to caution fans against purchasing from unauthorized sellers. LA28 stated that primary tickets would be sold only through its official ticket service providers, AXS and Eventim. It states that any LA28 tickets offered for resale before 2027 should not be considered verified.
“Although LA28’s resale platforms will not launch until 2027, it was important to have a variety of platforms to provide fans multiple points of access to verified tickets,” said LA28 Chief Executive Officer Reynolds Hoover.
The announcement of ticket prices comes after FIFA criticized the staggering sums charged for seats at this summer’s World Cup.
