cause i started looking summer house It was that people were hot. no that’s wrong. cause i started looking summer house The thing is, I met one of the editors who worked on it at a party and he said it was amazing. cause i kept Watching summer house It was that people were hot. Season one featured Kyle Cooke, Carl Radke and Lindsay’s insufferable ex Everett Weston hotter than Hamptons asphalt. And they added hottie after hottie: Luke Gulbranson, Andrea Denver, Jordan Verroi. Haha. Just kidding on that last one. But this week we meet our final boss of hot guys summer house: West Wilson dressed as Mrs. Doubtfire.
I don’t know what it is, but there’s something about a guy in an ill-fitting wig, a mountain of polyester and some character glasses that gets my genitals going. This is West’s best look to date, including every shirtless scene and every time he’s stepped out of a pool drenched. Maybe Carl is putting “tanlines” into his Pornhub search terms, but my new search is “football player” booger drag“
The vest she wears in a party is even sexier than the one she wears in a party. In fact, this should show every future Bravoleb the dangers of having a themed or costume party because you’ll have to have serious conversations or major conflicts while wearing the most ridiculous outfit. Here’s Mr. Doubtfire chatting with Kyle Cooke, wearing herbertold man next door family Guy. West fulfilled his promise made in the previous episode that he had something to say to Kyle about the way he treated Amanda the previous night.
West told Kyle right off the bat: “I know there’s a lot of layers and depth, but that was the only time I thought, objectively, that you were unnecessary and nothing happened, and it was black and white, not the right thing. This may not have been the right way for you to get shit off your chest, and that was bad.” He clearly condemns what Kyle did, tells her that she needs to apologize, and also says that Amanda doesn’t deserve this. But what he also does is he tells her that he is her friend, that he will support her, and that if she needs to put the burden on someone, he can put the burden on her. (Oh, how I would like to take off… Brian, wait!) This is the way to be a friend, especially how men should treat their other male friends, letting them know that mistreating women is unacceptable and there is nothing wrong with being in touch with their feelings. (Oh, how I’d like to keep in touch… Really, Brian? Snatch it together.)
When I last checked before starting the recap, speculation was rampant, but nothing official. Many difficult conversations occur at this party, including the one between Kyle and Carl, whose dyed brown hair makes her the second most attractive person at the party after West as Mrs. Doubtfire. Carl tells Kyle that he was upset that Kyle did not invest in Loverboy and even praised how much Kyle did for him, as well as how much he loved him as a friend. Kyle talks about how terrible things are at Loverboy, how he only has three months’ salary left, and the business is in serious trouble. Carl said in the confessional that the conversation went nowhere and that Kyle hijacked it by complaining about his life. I get that Kyle is in a terrible place, work has taken over his mind, and his relationship is collapsing like a Ritz box left in the rain, but he can’t even ask Carl how the soft bar is going? Can he find a way to show his partner some support? At least Carl has Bailey to flirt with.
While West is inside talking to Kyle, Mia, Ciara and Lindsay are outside talking to Amanda. Mia, the newest member, who I already like more than expensive Christmas gifts, tells Amanda, “Stop letting him do that crap to you. You don’t deserve it.” Whoomp, there it is, as the ancient chant says. This is the first time we’ve seen Ciara address the topic of her breakup, which I’m sure has happened a lot off-camera. She says, “If everything you do irritates him, maybe he needs a break from you, and if everything he does is reactive and impulsive toward you, then you need a break, too.” She also offers to let Amanda stay at her house and tells her that she is taking her back. What a good friend. I love to see women supporting each other and standing up for each other, no matter what.
The morning after the party, Dara and KJ make breakfast for everyone, which is very sweet, and Ben asks Lindsay if he can bring his ex-girlfriend Sabrina to her housewarming party. She says she can, but maybe that’s because she didn’t meet the sugar daddy at the party and is hoping Sabrina can bring him instead a plant or a bottle of wine to heat her new apartment. At breakfast, Ciara says she bought her grandparents’ old house in North Carolina and is going to sign the papers and start renovating it. She says that her grandfather built it, it was the only stable home in her life, and she wanted to keep it in the family. She invites the whole team next summer. I’m sure they will all be welcomed and eager to see what Ciara is up to next summer. It made me realize that he’s the only Bravo cast member who doesn’t get to go on tour every year. Send summer house-I went to Ciara for a weekend. They’ve earned it! Not gonna lie, I cried a little at Ciara’s story, especially when Mia and West both said how proud they were of her for doing something that meant so much to her. It’s good to see West supporting him.
The episode ends at Lindsay’s housewarming. How big is this house? How much does it cost to heat? How is Lindsay coping with all this?!? Hellman’s deals must be seven figures! Carl arrives and brings gifts for both Lindsay and Gemma and they smile awkwardly at each other, but they’re getting over it, they’re moving on, they’re making peace because they’re both professionals. See, even after a very controversial breakup, ex-lovers can be successful in this show. Lindsay doesn’t really care about Carl, because she’s wearing a metallic floral dress and she looks absolutely stunning. There’s a little skirmish between Bailey and Dara at the party, which Bailey handles pretty well, but I think we’re going to get the second half of that fight in next week’s episode.
Until then, there’s one last heart-to-heart conversation, and it’s between Amanda and Kyle, who have calmed down enough to talk about their relationship. Kyle had apologized the night before, as West had asked him to, but, when they sit down after breakfast, Amanda demands to know what took him so long and why he waited to apologize. He says he was acting on his emotions. processing? Amanda responded perfectly, “Think and process? You came to me and said, ‘Fuck you!'” Kyle said he wanted to know why, but we know why. He feels that Amanda doesn’t love him, that she would rather spend time with their friends than be with him, that she has hijacked his show, that she doesn’t care that his business is failing, that she’s hurt and she won’t make up. This is what he is feeling.
Kyle wants to know why Amanda isn’t working out, like she’s moved on to another relationship or something, but he wants her to know that he’ll work, he’ll go to couples therapy, he’ll do whatever she wants. Amanda says she’s stuck with him because of the rumors and the dirt, as Meredith Marks says, and because of all the horrible things he’s done, but she won’t be talked to that way anymore; She has done it. She is absolutely complete. Kyle tells her he just wants to be loved, and she says, “I want that too. I want that too.” She looks deeply and long into his eyes, knowing the love is there but not for him. She looks out the back window, past the pool and the mess in the backyard, and straight out to the woods and the Hamptons.
(“Do not disturb” turns off the phone.) …This is recent breaking news. The rumors are true. West and Amanda are officially dating. Or officially have a “connection”, whatever that means. But the rumors are true. Shame.
