Preface
A two-goal deficit is no big deal for Chelsea, especially given the quality available to Sonia Bompastor. They have an incredible array of attacking talent who should be up to the challenge tonight on home soil against the defending champions. They are unbeaten in five matches in the league and finished Aston Villa with four goals, showing that the shooting boots are definitely on and they will try it tonight.
However, several things are stacked against Chelsea, starting with Arsenal’s defence. The Gunners have conceded just 12 goals in 17 Women’s Super League games, so they will be confident of keeping the Blues relatively quiet. Additionally, Alessia Russo’s North London derby hat-trick at the weekend will give them a further boost of confidence and chances of getting some chances against a team that conceded three goals against Aston Villa on Sunday.
Let’s hope for a cracker.
Start: 8pm BST.
